Afterwards I managed to find an old version 2.5.7.0 and have been using that with no problems.
I didn't see any option to not install it. This wasn't just adware that you could choose to install- it was really malicious malware that was very difficult to remove (I finally managed to). ImgBurn is the best burning program which was why it was so sad the latest version 2.5.8.0 came bundled with malware.
