I'm fine with a complicated GBI setup to save some money and skip having another HDMI device plugged in, but you might prefer the simplicity of using the consolizer. I'm also unsure if the Gamecube's 4:2:2 chroma subsampling affects GBA output- I think Extrems has made it a non-issue.Īgain I think it comes down to cost. GBI can't quite 100% match the GBA's refresh rate, so I'm fairly certain it will duplicate a frame every 10-15 seconds or so (much less noticeable than the original software), or use frame interpolation depending on which options/version you use. You definitely want to use the RGB output going into the OSSC combined with GBI's 360p mode, if that's the route you end up going.
However, it's now an analog signal compared to the pure digital of the GBA Consolizer. However, the GCDual does also output RGB so the output would be RGB -> OSSC. The GCDual supports HDMI but it's only 480p so the OSSC can't upscale it. Sorry, yeah I do mean the GBA Consolizer.
